Could I be freaking out more than I freaked out yesterday????

Guess so.

Yet, I continue to make beads! I should pack!!! But I'm already half-packed (I keep telling myself this since I never really unpacked from the last bead and button... that's when I took my hiatus)

So, I need to box what's not already boxed... but I want to make beads! I need to make more beads!!

In the meantime, I've been asked for a picture of the Limited Edition Halloween Head Over Heels... so here it is!

It will be available through August for order and purchase from the website. I won't post it until I get back (because I won't know how many I have in stock until then).

BUT you can pre-shop by emailing me and letting me know you want one and what color hair/hat you'd like it to have...

Hair - blonde, redhead, dark brunette, black (black doesn't look good with the black hat and orange doesn't look good with the orange hat)

Witch Hat - Black, Orange, Lime Green. Lime and Black hats have an orange pumpkin on them... Orange hat has purple flowers for decorations.

So here we are... Three days until I leave for bead and button. Am I freaking out?? Most definitely. Am I anywhere near ready?? No way.

This will be the first show I've done without someone to help me pack up my stuff. I know that seems like no big deal, but it's not one of my strongsuits and I'm dreading doing it on Saturday.

I'm still going to let myself make beads today and tomorrow. I have a ton of other stuff I SHOULD do instead tomorrow, but I need the studio time for my sanity. It's nice to see it that way again... As a place I want to go.. A place I enjoy going and see as a happy place again.

I haven't been here blogging about this because I've been so busy, but I can say again that I'm back... And really mean it . My hands are effortlessly doing what I need them to again which leaves my mind to think about creative things instead of dwelling on the physical frustrations.


I haven't had a chance to get REALLY creative, but it's nice to finally feel like myself again!

I have tons of other beady things to talk about but they will have to wait.

No coffee today. No music either! But I haven't been in the studio yet. I predict that I'll be listening to stuff I can sing along with!

Here we are ONE week before Bead and Button and my mind is REELING with new ideas.

That is the way it has always worked with me. The week prior to Bead and Button and the week prior to the Tucson Best Bead Show (when I used to do that one) were some of my most creative times.

I think it's because I'm in a groove and I'm producing more than creating and my hands are on auto-pilot, so my mind gets to wander a little bit. I'm really excited about some of the things that I've thought of AND I've had a ton of good other ideas for Saybeads and its launch (which is WAY past due).

ok... too much to do to spend time blogging...

listening to the Wreckers in the office. Probably will move to Dixie Chicks in the studio in a bit!

coffee was cinnamon dolce latte, but no coffee this afternoon... can't have shaky hands for tiny faces!

One week and one day till Bead and Button and I'm only SLIGHTLY freaking out here.

I'm totally excited, totally nervous, totally exhausted.... lots of totallys.

I have been making beads like a mad-woman the past couple of days. It's hard balancing life w/ a full day in the studio, but I'm trying to do that.... not sure how successfully.

I'm not crazy about being in the studio till 11 pm, but I did it tonight and will probably have to repeat that at least once more this week. It reminded me of the old old old days when I used to work after the boys went to bed. I'm less of a night-owl now... mostly because I have to be a morning owl too!

I've been making witch heads and feet all day for the head over heels halloween kits. I hadn't planned to take more than 10, but since 5 sold before I even LEFT for the show, I'm trying to scramble and have a few more ready to go. I did a non-witch-hat version tonight that's really cute. I'm not sure I like it better, but it's a fun variation. It's going to be hard for me NOT to make lots of variations all the time. Having limited edition kits will be more focused on one style until it's gone... and then move to another style. The Halloween kit is what's out there NOW, but I'm going to have the Christmas kit ready to roll by September... and the Valentines kit by Thanksgiving... you get the picture.

SO... I'm trying to stick with the original design for this kit, but I keep wandering... oh well.

I need to make mermaid babies tomorrow. Thats one of the things I'm lacking in my inventory... mermaid babies and fairy godmothers. Their faces are the hardest for me, so I've kind of waited, hoping my hands would be back in the groove and ready to tackle something so detailed and small. I think i'm ready.

ok... i'm rambling because I'm sleepy!

music for the studio... Adele, then my "Mondo Favorite Playlist" which has a little of everything. Adele is in my head, however and I can't get it out. "I'm the only one in love......" (sung with a lovely brittish accent)

no coffee in the studio... just Dasani Raspberry (which I couldn't find at the store... they had better NOT discontinue my favorite flavor!)

Totally side-tracked this weekend by a million things... one of them being t-shirts.

SO far behind blogging and just about everything else...

BUT I decided last night while making beads in the studio (yes... you read that right) that I would attempt a Splish Splash girl..

I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think she cracked or anything (didn't feel it while making her) but will check her thoroughly today.

I felt SO successful. That said, it took me near forever to make her, so I'm not sure how many of those I'll be making any time soon, but I DID IT!!!!!!!

16 days until the Bead and Button show!

It will be my first show in over 2 years! If you're there, stop by Booth 110 and say "hi"!!!

Monday!!!!

Time is flying by way too fast for me right now... and way too slow at the same time.


I have only TWO WEEKS till I leave for Bead and Button and I am NOWHERE near ready.

I have finally fought off whatever was keeping me out of my studio, but OY do I have a lot of catching up to do!!!!!

I got 11 fairies made this weekend and a TON of encased stringer. Hopefully enough to get me through most of the focal beads. I go through a LOT of that when making my girls. I probably will have to make more green leaf-cane, but I have enough to go a few more days anyways.

The boys have NO CLUE what they're in for the next couple of weeks. They have never had to deal with their mom in "production mode" at the same time as being the only parent around. I have no idea how I'm going to balance it all, but I will.

I've told them that as of Saturday, they are my employees and will be doing whatever I need them to do in order to get ready for the show AND that once we hit the road, they are FULL TIME employees and will be paid handsomely at the end of the show (how handsomely depends how well I do at the show. I'm really hoping for Playstation 3 well... but I guess we'll see)

I think it will be good for them to see what's really involved in being an artist and doing shows... and that this really is a JOB. I have no idea if they will or not.

note to self... buy walkie talkies (do they sell a set of 4 that can talk to each other??? if so, we need them for the show)


ok... off to work. Must pack the office because we are oh-so-very-inconveniently moving the same week that I'm trying to get ready for my show. ugh.

It's FRIDAY!!!!!

And I'm not freaking out quite as badly as I was in prior days. I now have my travel plans made...pretty much.... other than not having a CLUE if I'll have my van traded in by then or if I'll be driving it to WI. I'd much rather have a new(for me) car to drive there because I wouldn't worry quite so much, BUT it might not happen in time... can't think about that today.

I've been playing Scarlett O'Hara a lot lately with my "Fiddle Dee Dee... Tomorrow is Another day" sort of thinking. But some days I just can't conquer everything at once.

I'm baby stepping it right now.

This weekend I'm on my own and making beads beads beads. Must find wrench and change propane first thing when I get home... and then I'm off to the studio to LIVE for 2 1/2 days!!!!

Made beads on Sunday. Thought I'd have pictures to post... haven't even gone back to get them out of the kiln!!

Ran out of propane while i was making them and laughed because I didn't realize that's what was going on. I hadn't run out of propane since..... 2005!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a new tank and need to get it hooked up, but life has been busy with kid stuff in the evenings, so no time for beads until Friday. I neeeeeed Friday to get here quick! But then I need the weekend to last extra long so I can get everything done. Can anyone do that for me??? Rush tomorrow and slow down the weekend??? sounds like an episode of LOST!!

speaking of which... It's WEDNESDAY!!! woo hoo!!!! A new episode is on tonight!!! Love that show!!!!

couldn't tell you. but it wasn't blogging, that's for sure!

I'm way behind in the blog and it's probably because I'm still not feeling beady. I hate that, but it's true.

I have GOT to get my rear-in-gear FAST because of the show, but I think deep down I'm relying on the fact that I have tons of back-stock from the 2006 show. I know that I can pull it out and not freak out if necessary.

That doesn't mean I don't NEED to be working on new work... but I don't have to panic. And I'm not.
